Was wondering if it would be legal in IN. To auction off a deer hunt on my ground ?? My place holds a lot of big deer and I thought it might be a way to make a few extra dollars. I was thinking maybe a 3 or 5 day hunt during the rut. Like around the last week in Oct. or the first week in Nov. Im in Warren county IN. and my place is all mature hardwoods with corn and beans on two sides. I own 65 acres that is all hills and hollers kinda like the Hoosier National Forest. When you walk this place it feels like there is 200 acres. Last year alone we seen 20 differnt bucks with 10 being your average 100-120 inch deer 5 being in the 130-150 range and 4 monsters that were 170 plus and 1 buck that was well over the 200 inch mark. The 200 + inch deer has been seen the last 3 years and is still walking. This could turn out to be the hunt of a life time for someone. What would a hunt like this be worth and can I legally do it I NEED SOME INPUT !!!! Here is a pic of a 154" deer taken on my place last season. And the other is of my to boys with a buck I took 3 years ago.

Why not. You can lease property rights for hunting. You can charge guide fees. Unless there is some reason why you think it might be illegal?**
**Advice is not given by a representive of the State of Indiana, lawyer, or a guy who spent a night in a Holliday Inn Express last night. In other words cover your own a## and ask someone who should know. Not a bunch of faceless folks on an internet site.

Why bother with an auction? Just set a price, advertise it and sell a hunt.
If you are providing a little guiding assistance, tree stands, food and lodging, you should easily be able to fetch $1500 - $2000 for a five day hunt.
As a word of caution, you better get in touch with a lawyer first and have some contract documents drawn up. You don't want one of your clients getting hurt and slapping a law suit on you. Most guided hunts require you do this. You sign a document saying you understand the hazards associated with hunting and you won't sue in event of a problem. Also, if the weather goes to heck, tough luck, the client simply loses those days.
Note - I suspect most traveling hunters would be a little hesitant to gamble their whole hunt on only a 65 acre patch to hunt. I would. That could be an issue.

Id contact a lawyer and get all the legal info. Then put it on ebay and set a minimum price. If no one bids you can always lower your price and re-list the hunt. h.h.
