I`M LOOKING FOR SOME SUGGESTIONS ON A GOOD LATE FALL/EARLY WINTER FOOD PLOT. I WANT SOMETHING THAT WILL STAY GREEN, GROWING AND ATTRACTIVE TO DEER THROUGH A LIGHT FROST. I`VE TRIED CLOVER AND IT WORKS GOOD UNTIL A FROST, THEN IT SHRIVELS UP AND GOES DORMANT. ARE THERE ANY PRODUCTS OUT THERE THAT WILL TOLERATE THE COLD BETTER THAN OTHERS. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Here is what I have heard.. Winter oats...forget the Buck Forage Oats.. go for feed oats. Not as much germination, but a HECK of a lot cheaper.

Shot-Plot is the best fall/early winter food plot. You can get it at Rural King. Its mostly turnips and brassics seeds. This is my 4 year planting it and it works great. Stays green until mid-Jan and then they eat the turnips bulbs. You don't plant it until mid-August. Use 12-12-12 fertilizer @ 300 lb an acre. h.h.
