I am toying with the idea of putting a few 1/8 acre food plots in the woods that I hunt. I have 3 areas that I could use. Do you guys think that this is too small of an area?

Nope.
My food plot this year is ~40'x45', or .0413 acres. ;D It'll be bigger next year by about 2-3 times.

I have good luck with my little plot. It's about a 1/4 acre. I wish I had room and the land for a 50 acre plot !!

My plots with turnip and rape are still green and growing leaves with this warm weather. Lots of tracks in the plot and you can see where they are eating on the turnips. h.h.

Last year, I had 3 plots all probably 20' x 20', while the deer would eat from them, they really didn't "draw" any deer in. It was more like they came across them by accident, and stopped for a bite.

I have found that the smaller the plot the quicker it dissappears. It all depends on your deer population. We plant small plots in Orange county. This year I planted sorghum and the heads were demolished within the first few weeks of maturity. This year we are going to fence them off and use some sort of deer detractant during the months of heavy growth. I will see how this goes and post. I have plots of 1/4 acre, 1/8 acre of sorghum and 2 acres of clover and alfalfa.
