Hey guys, I thought maybe some of you might like to see one of my food plots. I plant Shot Plot and Provide together in mid august. Shot Plot is red top turnips and Provide is mostly clover. The deer really eat the turnips in late archery and gun season and then the clover comes in the next spring. This plot is about 80 x 30 yds and the path to the end is a 175 yard shot. The tree stand doesnt have the swivel boat seat in it but gives you an idea of my set up. i will plow this up about the 10th of August and re-plant for this fall. i use to let the clover in for a couple years but found the deer use it more if i replant every year. i also use about 300 lbs per acre of 12-12-12 fertilizer. ive got two more plots but both are about 1/4 the size of this one. h.h.

Looks REAL good! Great job! If you stare long enough, you can see a Booner walk into the field.

the plot you see in the picture was plowed, disc and replanted with Shot Plot and Provide mixed and 12-12-12 fertilizer. I also plant another small plot with the same seed but one plot that is close to the one in the picture i put in red clover, alsike and yellow blossom clover because i dont have a stand on it and didnt want the deer to use it until next spring-summer. i got the plots in just before noon and we had a small rain about 2pm. now all i have to do is watch them grow. when the plants get up i take some pictures and post them. h.h.

I re-planted the food plot that is in the picture last Monday the 7th of August. We had about 1/2 inch of rain since then and my seed is starting to come up. The seeds are red top turnips and clover mixed. The small plants are turnips. I'll take another picture around mid Sept of the food plot. The deer usually don't start eating it good until we have a couple of frosts. Then the sugars go up in the leaves and make them sweet. h.h.
