Going out this weekend, we really need some rain up this way to kick it in full gear. Calling for a soaker tomorrow, so the weekend should be good. I hunt a county park though and it will be full of people on Saturday. Last year i hit it during the weekdays and had mushrooms to eat clear through the summer and fall.

Agreed! Warm temps AM & PM, lightning, & a good toad strangler rain ought to do the trick.

Woody
Put me down for 55 , 50 yellow and 5 black.
Went out last night west of Danville. (Hendricks Co) I had not been in this place for 20 yrs. Brought back some good memories.
Are yellows worth more points than blacks?

better hope they dont implement a OMR ..... (one morel rule) LOL...the way my luck is in the rare times that I get to go morel hunting, it wouldn't matter if there was a one morel rule, that's about all I find anyways!

Went out yesterday and found 9 farely old blacks, 1 really nice fresh grey and over 20 nice fresh yellows. We left about half of the yellows for a couple more days. Hoping the temps don't get to warm.

Well i went out today with the wife for our first trip this spring. We werent in the woods 10 minutes until we seen the biggest snake of our lives. Big long thick black snake just laying there sunning itself. Was hard to look for mushrooms with that on our mind lol. We did look a little while after and found none. Gonna try our little honey hole late this week, still a bit early up here i think.

I went Wed and Thursday and found about 30 each day. Most of them were awfully small and pretty dry. The ones i found on Thursday were in a little better shape and had more size to them. That woods is generally a late producer so im hoping the bigger ones are still yet to come. We need another rain though bad or it's gonna be done. It looks like it wants to rain right now but hasnt done it yet.
