jeez ... dont take all the fun out of it. The REAL 'fun' is in finding that first sponge as big as your fist. After that one, its all dead serious. ;D Lst year, I found just enough for one big mess, and I left that at my sisters house. She can't get out to hunt them anymore. One of my brothers brought me a mess of yellows later on, so I did have one good meal after all.

I don't doubt that poundage. Two of my buddies found 75 pounds on a weekend trip to southern Minnesota last spring. I saw them, and they sold a bunch, plus gave away a bunch.

I usually give away 5-10 lbs a year to older people who cant hunt them any more. All though most of the people offer to pay me I never accept any money. My payment is the happy expression on their faces when i give them a bag full. h.h.

Morel Mushroom Hunting.
Can you use PCR? Can you hunt them inside Marion County? Will using any particular implements jeopardize the future of hunting altogether? Is it ethical to hunt them at long ranges? Are they covered under my lifetime license? parson

If my math serves that's exactly between $4000 and $9000 but it doesn't really matter. We aren't here to correct each others math and spelling errors. I got enough red ink in school to last a lifetime

Well I'll be back in Indiana late this week and then I'm promptly headed for the woods to find my shrooms! I know the weather is warm today and tomorrow then turning cool again, but if they are up, they don't retreat back into the earth, I'll let you know what I find. P.S. HornHarvester: I'm getting really old and would really appreciate one or two pounds from your mess!!! LOL

I checked out a little hot spot last night after work. No blacks. Going to have to wait on the yellows.

I finally found some yesterday. Found about 30 total, but nearly half of them were hit by the frost and all dried up. I was just happy to get out and see some for a change.

Finally!!!!!!!!! I hit one of my mushroom holes yesterday evening & found 18 (spearheads, blacks, greys, & yellows). Some were a little dry & frost burned & some were moist & fresh.
