If you go to Morels.com it is kind of fun to watch as they start coming up in the South and work their way up.

With all of the rain & warm temps, the blacks & spearheads shoud be up early this year if the weather pattern continues.

Looked for about 2 hours today in Warren county, not one Mushroom! Maybe in a week to 10 days they will pop.

My dad went out by the house this evening and brought back about half a plastic wal-mart sack full. Black, grey, yellow. They weren't real big. The biggest was proabably about 4", but they went good with the rest of supper tonight.

Well what do you think? Think the weather has ended the season early or will it pick back up when it warms again?

I think we will be OK once the warm weather is here to stay.

I searched A park today where I found about 25 nice Blacks last April 12th. Did not see any sign of a Mushroom. Still to early, and this cool may set them back a little more.

I guess me and my buddy are just trying to get in some woods time because we are going out tomorrow to hunt for some myshrooms. He convienced me that the ground is still warm enough for them to come up.... besides by the time it warms up again I will be starting another 8 day work week so I better go when I can.

Well we went out today and hunted them in flurries.... found a total of 72 between the two of us.... I think the biggest may have been 2 1/2 inches tall. But it was enough for a decent mess for the two of us....... Now I ahve my fix in I can wait until it warms up and i am off work to go again... no calling in sick for me this year to go shroom hunting like I did last year.
