Went out yesterday afternoon (9/6) and gathered about 1/2 of a Kroger plastic sack full of paw paw's. 85% of them were no where close to being ready to eat, but the seeds should be viable, which is the main reason I collected them. There were 3-4 that were edible, but probably still a little early for them. I'd give them at least another week or two before you start gathering them for consumption.

I agree. They are just a tad bit green.

When you guys talk about Paw Paws, are you talking about a plant or a tree? What we call Paw Paws are a plant, we also call them Indiana bananas, because that's what they taste like. Unless they are green, then they taste like Kerosene!

Yeppers, they are trees. Leaves look a LOT like pignut hickory. I meant to take a pic or two, but just haven't done it yet. Oh, the dozen or so that were starting to get soft have really got our sunroom smelling now! I'm surprised my wife hasn't said something yet!! ;D We'll see how my in-laws like them tomorrow. Maybe my b-i-l will like them a lot and I'll tell him to eat a few! ;D
