Didn't know where to put this but here i go i read f-f-g every month and in the sept. issue that just came out it says to expect 295.00-300.00 a lb. for ginseng from a buyer could i expect to make that for harvesting it next friday.

Thats the price for dry ginseng. It takes quite a bit of dry ginseng to make a lb, one day would be pretty tough.

Thats the price for dry ginseng. It takes quite a bit of dry ginseng to make a lb, one day would be pretty tough. Yes, it does take a lot of dried Ginseng to make a pound. My great grandpa used to gather it. I think in all his years, he probably ended up with 5 dry pounds total! On a side note, there is a heading entitled "Gathering Natures Bounty" where this topic would fit better, plus there is a lot of info to read there too. |

Hey gundude, I checked out that pic,,,,,,,,,,, How big you think the root was on that four prong  . I have never seen the berry stem sticking up that high like in the pic, but then again I have never found a four prong that big. |

Semisneak, back in the day I found some 4 prongers that nearly 20" tall... that was years ago and the roots were HUGE! Even on those plants I never saw a berry stem stick out like that one!.......
