Leave in the morning for my moose hunting trip. Can't wait. Taking the family out for supper tonight then a long restless evening. Hoping to get a couple hours anyway. Then a 12 hour trip to a place called Hearst then continue on to Geraldton Saturday morning.

Amazing how big those critters look when you walk up on them after the kill. You think to yourself ... "Man, I've got one heck of a bunch of work to do now". It takes two men several hours to get one quartered up, all the meat salvaged, and the rack and cape removed. It's about all two guys can do to handle a hind quarter. Might tasty, however!

You think that's big? Try standing next to the head and shoulder mount of the Bull this guy I know shot. Jesus murphy, I tell ya you could almost fit a picnic table between the antlers.

The fella I work for was up in Canada last month bear hunting a Lake Latteral Lodge. They told him that a non-resident moose tag was close to $20,000.00
I guess the lodge owners, as non-resident land owners are allowed to take ONE antlerless moose per year, without a tag, as long as they report it.
He said he seen moose tracks EVERYWHERE....but never spotted a moose.
He did get a real nice 300lb Black Bear!
