Text for the Day -- Acts 8:4-8 ---------- Now those who were scattered went from place to place, proclaiming the word. Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them. The crowds with one accord listened eagerly to what was said by Philip, hearing and seeing the signs that he did, for unclean spirits, crying with loud shrieks, came out of many who were possessed; and many others who were paralysed or lame were cured. So there was great joy in that city.
Devotional ---------- The ministry of Jesus that included healing and freeing people from the power of evil continued with the Apostles. Philip, one of the early deacons, went to Samaria and did just that. Great joy came to that city because of the ministry of Philip. Isn't that what the ministry of the church should bring to the communities in which they exist? Is healing and confronting the powers of evil happening in your town?
Prayer --------------- Give me courage to pray boldly for healing and cleansing to happen in my community, Lord. Amen
