Text for the Day -- Psalm 96:1-6

O sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, bless his name;
tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvellous works among all the peoples.
For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be revered above all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.
Honour and majesty are before him;
strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Devotional

Praise can be difficult for some. Depression robs the joy that
nurtures praise. Or, if your focus is on what is wrong, or your
failure, it may be hard to realize that God is at work and that God
is greater than all that is. If your gaze and reflection are on God,
you will be moved to praise for the blessings and care with which God
surrounds you. Let the praise come from within out of your own
reflection of God's work in your life and not just the outer
circumstances around you.
