Text for the Day -- Revelation 21:5-7

And the one who was seated on the throne said, ‘See, I am making all
things new.’ Also he said, ‘Write this, for these words are
trustworthy and true.’ Then he said to me, ‘It is done! I am the
Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will
give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life. Those who
conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they
will be my children.'

Devotional

We humans seem to carry in us both a remembrance of the beginning and
the hope of a restored future. This text points us to the great
promise of God for a complete renewal and transformation of all
things. Christ's victory on the cross and his resurrection will
ultimately bring a total completion of his work of redemption. A new
heaven and a new earth await in the future, when we, too, shall be
raised to the joy of life in God's total presence.
