Text for the Day -- Psalm 90:1-4, 12-14 ---------- LORD, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You turn us back to dust, and say, "Turn back, you mortals." For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night.
So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart. Turn, O LORD! How long? Have compassion on your servants! Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Devotional ---------- No matter how bad things get, know that God is your refuge. In the flow of ups and downs, good and evil, consolation and desolation, God is there, underneath it all. God shares the promise of steadfast love to sustain in our gladness at being children of God. Life is short and sometimes difficult, but there is more to come and it will be wonderful.
Prayer --------------- Help me remember the signs in my life that tell me that you are there, O Lord. Amen
