Text for the Day -- Psalm 26:1-7 ---------- Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and mind. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in faithfulness to you. I do not sit with the worthless, nor do I consort with hypocrites; I hate the company of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked. I wash my hands in innocence, and go around your altar, O LORD, singing aloud a song of thanksgiving, and telling all your wondrous deeds.
Devotional ---------- The psalmist often speaks of his faithfulness to God and love for God's teaching and house. This seems to be an attempt to remind that he is deserving of God's attention or takes seriously what God has said. In a personal crisis, especially when someone is attacking, we do look to God to take up our cause. "Do you see what is happening to me God?" The key phrase in this psalm is, "For your steadfast love is before my eyes." Our hope is in God's promise of steadfast love for us.
Prayer --------------- I thank you God that you notice me and know what is happening in my life. Amen
