Text for the Day -- John 15:16-17

You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and
bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you
whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so
that you may love one another.
Devotional
----------
The foundation of our faith is not our feelings about God, but God's
feelings about us. These feelings of God for our lives are expressed
by Jesus as a choosing, an election, by God of us. This choosing is
the strength of our faith. We love because God first loved us. We
serve our neighbor because God has served us and our needs. We trust
God because God expressed trust toward us in calling us to share in
God's mission - love one another.

Gracious God, I give you thanks for choosing me to be yours. Amen
