Text for the Day -- Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love,
as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering
and sacrifice to God.
Devotional

Paul uses the image of a fragrant perfume to describe the nature of
God's and forgiveness as demonstrated by Jesus Christ on the cross.
He invites us to be imitators of God in letting the sweet aroma of
sacrificial love pervade the society from the presence of those who
follow Christ. There are many smells in the world - hate,
indifference, greed, etc. but sacrificial love can redeem the air.
Prayer

Holy Spirit, fill my heart and soul with Christ's love so that I may
put the fragrance that redeems. Amen
