Text for the Day -- John 6:35, 47-51

Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will
never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the
bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and
they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one
may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from
heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live for ever; and the bread
that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.'
Devotional

John's Gospel puts stress on belief in Jesus as the Son of God. This
belief in Jesus is what opens the door to see God's redemptive love
and experience eternal life. This is the life one receives from God
in Jesus Christ through faith. Jesus called it the abundant life. It
is filled with the abundant grace of God for now and forever.

Open my life to the mystery of eternal life in Christ through faith,
O Lord. Amen
