Text for the Day -- Psalm 65:1-4

Praise is due to you,
O God, in Zion;
and to you shall vows be performed,
O you who answer prayer!
To you all flesh shall come.
When deeds of iniquity overwhelm us,
you forgive our transgressions.
Happy are those whom you choose and bring near
to live in your courts.
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
your holy temple.
Devotional

The psalmist uses a wonderful image to name God in this psalm -- "O
you who answers prayer." Every harvest, every victory in battle,
every blessing was a sign of a God who cares, a God who sees and
hears the needs of the people. God answers prayer! When we sin and
feel its weight, God forgives the prayer of confession and lifts the
load. When we gather for worship, God blesses. Is gratitude filling
your heart these days?

Lord, I am grateful for your love, mercy and presence in my life.
