"When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my
behalf. You also are to testify because you have been with me from
the beginning."

Today we celebrate Pentecost! This is the third major festival of the
church. It recounts the descent of the Holy Spirit on the early
church as Jesus had promised. The Holy Spirit is the great
"Connector" to the Trinity's presence in our lives. The Spirit comes
to bring a testimony to our lives. That testimony is to be shared
with others so that they may be connected to God and to us. In this
way the church is extended and the community of faith grows in
sharing life.

Come, Holy Spirit, live in me and bring a strong testimony to my
heart. Amen
