Text for the Day -- Isaiah 65:17-18, 24-25 ---------- For I am about to create new heavens and a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice for ever in what I am creating; for I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy, and its people as a delight. Before they call I will answer, while they are yet speaking I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, the lion shall eat straw like the ox; but the serpent-its food shall be dust! They shall not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain, says the Lord.
Devotional ---------- The prophetic voice of Isaiah spoke into the future as well as a hopeful word to those of his own time in Israel. God delights in doing new things. Jesus was a new thing. The Holy Spirit was a new thing to the people of God. God's indwelling presence filling us with light and love was a new thing. God will do a new thing for you when you are resurrected from death to life.
Prayer --------------- Help me see the new things you are calling me to experience in you, O Lord. Amen
