Text for the Day -- Psalm 135:1-4

Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord;
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
you that stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to his name, for he is gracious.
For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself,
Israel as his own possession.
Devotional

Praise befits God's people! The Psalms, the hymn book of Israel,
contains expressions of every emotion of the human heart in
relationship with God. The emotion associated with praise is
gratitude and awe at the goodness and power of God. Israel's praise
is rooted in the memories of God's mighty acts. The same is true of
the Christian community. When we remember the life, death and
resurrection of Jesus, gratitude and awe emerge in praise of God.
Prayer

O Lord, keep us singing your praises as you help us recall your
mighty deeds. Amen
