Text for the Day -- Genesis 1:1-3, 26

In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the
earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep,
while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God
said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light.

Then God said, 'Let us make humankind in our image, according to our
likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild
animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon
the earth.'

Devotional

Yesterday we celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus - the new creative
act of God that signifies that a new thing is happening. Being in the
Risen Christ draws you into the experience of the new creation.
Death, the destroyer of life and relationships, has been overcome.
God is restoring the creation and creatures to newness of life.

O God, reign in my life through your creative power and love. Amen
