Text for the Day -- Psalm 10:1-4

Why, O Lord, do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
In arrogance the wicked persecute the poor—
let them be caught in the schemes they have devised.
For the wicked boast of the desires of their heart,
those greedy for gain curse and renounce the Lord.
In the pride of their countenance the wicked say, ‘God will not seek
it out’;
all their thoughts are, ‘There is no God.’
Devotional

The Psalms reflect the human situation, including the dark side of
humanity. In the darkness a person will basically serve themselves in
pride and greed. They will convince themselves that God is not
concerned about their life, so they can do as they please. In those
circumstances the righteous do cry out for God and wonder why God
puts up with it.
Prayer

Continue to pour the light of Christ into my life, Lord. Amen
