Text for the Day -- Psalm 84:1-4

How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, indeed it faints
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh sing for joy
to the living God.
Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young,
at your altars, O Lord of hosts,
my King and my God.
Happy are those who live in your house,
ever singing your praise.

A place of worship where a community can gather for praise,
fellowship and prayer is very life giving. You hear in the words of
the psalmist the yearning and joy that comes from being part of a
worshiping community. Notice the phrase, "living God." That is the
key to praise and gratitude in worship. When you begin being
conscious of and experiencing the living presence of God, you have a
reason to be excited about worship.

Holy Spirit, enliven my sense of your presence that I may truly
praise. Amen
