Text for the Day -- Job 19:23-27

O that my words were written down!
O that they were inscribed in a book!
O that with an iron pen and with lead
they were engraved on a rock for ever!
For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that at the last he will stand upon the earth;
and after my skin has been thus destroyed,
then in my flesh I shall see God,
whom I shall see on my side,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
My heart faints within me!
Devotional

Job makes a statement of faith that is incredible given the
circumstances he was in. He has lost everything, yet he anticipates
seeing God at the end of his life. We have been created with a
longing and a yearning to know God's presence. As you give yourself
to seeking God, you need to know that God is seeking you. Stop, look
and listen where God is moving in your life.

Give me eyes and ears to notice your presence, gracious Lord. Amen
