Text for the Day -- Deuteronomy 32:18-20 ---------- You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you; you forgot the God who gave you birth.
The LORD saw it, and was jealous; he spurned his sons and daughters. He said: I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children in whom there is no faithfulness.
Devotional ---------- As humans we tend to think that we are in control of our destiny. Our pride stands in the way of acknowledging that we are created by Another and that we did not make us ourselves. God grieves as a parent when God's children (human creatures) do not remember their maker. God did not create us as robots or machines. We were created in the image of our Maker - thinkers and feelers capable of relationships. we are loved by our Creator and the Creator looks for love in return. Hopefully it will not be said of us that "you forgot the God who gave you birth."
Prayer -------------------- Stir my thoughts each day, Lord, so that I remember you in all I do. Amen
