Will Wal-Mart be merging the meat department & the auto repair shop together in the future? Oil, lube, check the exhaust system and a T-bone please.

Perhaps not M'Bogo , but they do sell a huge amount of that prepackaged meat the article mentions . Someone on another forum said they buy their meat by the quarter and that it was both better and cheaper . I've got room for a steer and one of my cousins used to cut meat for Winn Dixie , looks like it's time to buy a bigger freezer and a Food Saverâ„¢ .

Best reason to kill another deer and stock your freezer with that instead. I don't buy much beef, but do buy pork loins when on sale and a lot of chicken. Good thing those are light meat!! They probably have other preservatives embedded into them.

My family always either raised our own cattle or bought a steer and split the cost and the butchering, so none of the super market meat looks too appealling to me, but Walmart seems to be the worst.

I bought a "Silver Reserve", or whatever it's called steak from Scott's grocery store, and it had NO flavor! What a joke!

a few years ago i watched a show on TV about Winn Dixie food stores down south and they would take out of date chicken and wash it in bleach and water to remove the slim and then re-package it with BBQ sauce on it to hide the flavor, then put it back out for sale for another week. Needless to say i never bought another package of meat with any kind of sauce on it. I eat mostly venison for red meat, kill my own pork in Florida every year and buy frozen chicken breast and fish. At least if it frozen most of the bacteria is killed. h.h.
