Have an old el cheapo one that is a piece of crap and want to get a good one. Am looking at an Excalibur (No Woody not a crossbow) or L'Equip. Am open to suggestions of others. What's your experience?

I've had a couple personally. Definitely invest in one with a fan. My first had just a small heat coil in the bottom, and it took FOREVER to dry.
Invested in a nicer one with a fan. Does a much better job drying evenly. Still have to rotate the racks occasionally, but not every hour like before.
Not sure of the brand though.

Mine is a Mr. Coffee with five trays. Its a cheap-o but works good. I rotate the trays two - three time a cycle on the average but it depends on the thickness of the meat. h.h.

Thanks guys, I will certainly get one with a fan. I researched the two I mentioned online and they appear to be good ones. Will decide in the next few days.

I'll volunteer to be a "taste tester" for your first batch! ;D
