As soon as I can get out of the office today, we (my son and a buddy of his) will be heading to Potoka for the weekend. I recon we will be camping at the fisherman campground.
Anyone know if anything is hitting good down there?

Cambygsp, I fished Patoka last weekend and caught a few Largemouth ranging from 12 - 16" nothing big - one may have went 1-1/2 to 2 lbs. I saw some large ones (18 - 22") cruising around but they were not interested in any baits.
I had my best luck late evening & very early in the morning fishing with spinners and buzz baits around the drop off edges of weed beds and the shallow ends of coves.
During the heat of the day they (bass) we moving into deeper water and we could not get them to strike. Didn't fish for any crappie or gills but I heard from some guys at the ramp that the smallies were keying in on the shady side of the rock ledges and the drop offs in the creek channels.
The lake level is still pretty low and lots of stick ups and some of the shallow flats are now visable.
Good Luck!

We got home around 6:00pm last night (Sunday)....it was a WET trip......but thats just my luck, no rain in two months untill I decide to go camping.
We didn't really catch much, the bite was off.
The boys had a good time and I am wore out!

The bite wasn't off,you was just in the wrong place.I would have given you some tips, but I didn't read this post until about 5:00pm Friday and didn't figure there was much point by then. I fished a tournament Saturday morning. My partner and I never boated a keeper, but I lost track of how many shorts we caught. The guys that won the tourny had 30 lbs of fish.10 fish total. They were running buzzbaits over top of the grass beds on the main lake.I was up the river flipping lizards in the grass beds.
