Wife and I didn't feel like spending 100 bucks to gas up the boat and truck to hit Monroe this weekend so decided to hit the river here at home. We broke out the seine and hit the creek behind the house. Then loaded up the jon boat and put out a trotline yesterday evening. Had 5 channels and a couple of suckers this morning. Finished the morning catching a dozen big bluegills. Had a great time and spent less than $10.00

Sounds like fun! Last summer I spent a lot of time wading the St. Mary's, Wabash and even the White, fishing for smallies and putting lines out for turtles and cats. Had a blast even tho I did it all by my lonesome. Well, actually my brother went with me once, and of course THAT was the day I tripped over a big rock and went under. I think he about drowned laughing at me! He said he heard me splash and looked back and all he could see was one hand holding my cigarette out of the water.

Sounds like you've already figured it out. Indiana rivers are one of the most under used resources we have. At least in south central Indiana. Other than Northern and wipers I think I've caught every specie we have in the state in White river, Drift Wood, and Flat Rock River over the years. Good luck this summer.

Hey Decatur... if you are heading back out to St. Marys for some more wadding just let me know if you want company. I live not to far from there and am a bigtime smallie fisherman... although I ahve never waded the bash in any form usually stick to sugar creek, Otter creek, and the Eel river. At any rate I work 8 nights on then 6 days off so I have plenty of time to go.
