Has anyone been to Patoka for Crappies yet? If so, any luck and what general area of the lake would be my best bet?
I just got my boat ready for the season and I'm going to try to take my kids down there next weekend.
Thanks for any input.

Been tearing them up. Went today because my Son-In-Law and Grandson were here and that was a big mistake. I have never seen so many boats on that lake. Only managed one 13"er but the dinks were everywhere. Been catching them in trees from 18 to 24 inches deep on black and chartruese jigs tipped with crappie nibbles.

raporter....thanks for the information. My oldest son will fish all day, regardless of if he is catching anything. My youngest son is a different story!
Camby....let me know how you do. I'm headed there next Saturday if the weather is anywhere close to decent. Good luck on your Reelfoot trip.

We went and the fishing was very slow!
Drove down there yesterday morning and after getting my lake permit at the DNR office and then finding minnows we finally made it on the water about 9:00am.
It was a beautiful day but the fish were not biting, we didn't catch one fish! The lake level is way down, at the DNR office they said it was down two feet, but it looks more like 4 feet!
Everything went OK with the boat, but when we got home yesterday evening, we went over to Dicks and bought a 55lb thrust trolling motor, the 32 pounder just don't like to move the boat when there is any wind.
We'll be ready for Reelfoot come Thursday!

Still knocking them silly. Here are a couple photos. Each of these days we caught well over a hundred but haven't been keeping any. I'm one of those guys that prefers gills to eat and we get plenty of those. .

We fished a few wooded coves around painters creek and a wooded cove over by the dam. Not even a bite! We probably fished 4-5 hours.
It was nice being out and it was a beautiful day!
