Every smallie that I catch is released... There photos contain no fish that found the grease. I have been releasing them in a friends pond. Hopin to have the best pond fishin ever. I have stocked it full of smallies, largemouth and walleyes. Hopefully in couple years will be taking 5 lbers every day. Nice litlle pond experience. So far I have put LM upto 18" ,,, SM upto 17" and walleye upto 23" in it. He had a load of minnows put in last year. Plenty to eat and he has a well pumping water through it every day. 30' deep. Shall see how it works out. And a 3' gar

Isn't that illegal? I did some research after I posted this question. I was told on this forum or another, that it was illegal to catch fish and release them in a pond. Here's all I could find remotely dealing with this issue. It's cut and pasted from the DNR website.I caught a nice fish but don't want to keep it. Can I release it into another lake or river? It is illegal to move fish from one public water to another without a fish stocking permit. Moving fish between waters can introduce diseases, disrupt the adaptive characteristics of a local populations, or cause competition between species that negatively affects game fish and aquatic resources. www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/fish/fishing/faqfish.htmIt doesn't look to me that it is illegal. Good luck and nice fish.

If its illegal,,I swear I never did it. But , no its not illegal to take them to a private pond. If they meet legal catch and length, they are yours.
