Jack L. Scifres 73, of Indianapolis, died Monday, July 24, 2006. He was born September 29, 1932 in Jackson County, Indiana to the late Jake and Laura Scifres. Jack married Janet W. Wellington June 22, 1957, who preceded him in death. A member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. Jack worked as a Communications Craftsman for AT&T for over 30 years and was Co-owner and President of FlyMasters for the past 16 years. He enjoyed his time as a member of the Indianapolis Flycasters Club, and was a Master Fly Fisherman, known as "The Ole Fly Master." Visitation will be held Thursday, July 27 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd., with funeral services Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Blvd., and additional calling one hour prior to services. Jack is survived by his son, David P. Scifres (Dawn); daughter, Karen S. Webster (Scott), of rural Hancock County; brother, Bill Scifres (Nancy); and six grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church or Casting for Recovery (for Breast Cancer Research).

Same here. Their name is synonymous with Indiana hunting and fishing.
