I am looking to put together a group to do a Canada fly-in fishing trip next year. I've gone to this place (www.hawkair.com) a couple years ago and had a great time. We had the cabin on Goat Lake and were the only party on the lake. Of course I'm open to any other outfitters as well. Let me know if your interested, I don't want to wait too long to make reservations.

How was the fishing?
I would love to make another trip to Canada next year. I haven't been in a couple years. We've been fishing Dog Lake witch is through Wawa up at Missinabie.
We can get cabin that sleeps five and a boat for every two guys for under $300 US each. I'm not to hot on the whole brush plane thing. We were at Dog Lake in 1999 and watch one of those planes circling around in a soupy fog trying to figure out witch way to go.
Dog Lake is only about an hour or so NE of Wawa.

We went the opening week and fished mostly for walleye. We were there for the full week and had some good days and some fair days. On the average we managed to catch enough to keep us happy. We got the conservation license because we weren't intending on bring any fish back. We ate fish at least once and most days twice a day. The cabins were real nice and well equipped as were the boat/motors with plenty of fuel. Only complaint was the generator died on us about the fifth evening. Only thing we didn't have because of it was music, the cabin had gas lights, so there was no fire dancing that evening. $300 is a very good price but I'm sure the price has gone up since 99 burt hasn't. I've done fly-ins on three trips (moose, caribou & fishing) and flown on many commercial jets with my job and I'll say the small airplane water landings are the smoothest softest landings I've ever had. I also didn't feel near the turbulence in the smaller airplanes. I did get to sit in the co-pilots seat on two of those trips. On the caribou hunt I must have looked like a kid in a candy store because he told me, in a very strong French accent, DON'T TOUCH.

We just came back from a Fly-in in Ontario. 2nd time to same outfitter. ( www.exc-adventures.com ) Same deal with the only cabin on the entire lake. Had an awesome time with plenty of fish catching action. We were just south of Red Lake.

That's a heck of a deal. Let me know if you need a partner.
