How many of you guys release all of the bass you catch? I have since I was probably 16. I'd much rather catch them than eat them. Besides, there are plenty of panfish and catfish to satisfy my cravings for fresh fish.

I eat the white bass, but always toss back the largemouths. Interesting article in this months Field & Stream where Ray Scott (B.A.S.S.) says that we should take a few for the frying pan if you want to grow quality bass.

I do eat some smaller bass out of our pond every five years or so. Seems to be working as far as management is concerned, but you can't beat a good mess of gills.

Sometimes i do eat the small ones. I know lots of farmers whose ponds are overstocked with small ones and are stunted because theres to much competition for available food. These farm ponds also contain many stunted bluegill. I try to tell these farmers to add a few pike or flatheads to their ponds to help thin them out, but they just don't want to spend the money and would rather see someone fish them out (just the small ones), and it does their ponds good !!

Sometimes I peel their jammies off and release them in hot grease! Don't see a dang thing wrong with keeping a few for the table. Release the big uns.
