My cousin and I took his two rugrats Saturday to the Peoria Fishing Site, below the dam. We only caught a couple of small trash fish, but the kids loved it! BTW, they were catching quite a few white bass on white and chartreuse curly tails. I saw one stringer of about 10 fish with the smallest probably 12". Make sure you remember to buy your license before you go. I've been checked there 2 years in a row!

No not really. You could see the gravel bar in the river. A lot of times it's under water.

Good deal. I glad to hear the whipers are running. I knew it had to be close to that time of year, but its allways nice to hear firsthand. Mississinewa is a bit of a drive for me, but I'm gonna try Oakdale Dam below lake Freeman in Monticello.
For the DNR thing, it does seem like they are becoming more active than ever. I have been checked 2 times in 2 days at 2 different locations. It's good to see them doing their job though.

Absolutely. H etold me good luck fishing, and I said good luck to you too, I hope you catch someone. H ejust laughed and said thanks. It must be a good starting place for CO's, both years they were really young looking.

No, the CO said they are mainly 10-12". They were restocked last year. and grew that much in 6 months! I hope they keep it up! They lost a bunch of walleye when they had to lower the lake level for a couplke of years while they fixed holes in the dam.

I figured the bigger ones caught behind the dam came up the river from the wabash anyways. I only caught the little dinks down there but I have seen some decent ones landed from time to time. I have not been down there fishing in probably 7 yrs, used to be a weekly trip or dang close.

I heard they're tearing up whites on Salamonie, and catching a few crappie. They are catching crappie up north at Story lake too.
