Does anyone else besides me stop and pick up Styrofoam minnow buckets when they see them on the side of the road?I always stop because I have lost quite a few out the back of the pickup and I figure it is just Karma whenever I stop and get one. I always find them on the roads that lead to and from boat ramps.Last count I had thirteen.

Used to, but I either lost or busted them. Went to metal buckets years ago. Same goes for styro coolers. Went to plastic after the bottoms blew-out & full of fish.

An old friend of mine found one full of musky lures one time. Now that is a find and a big loss to the former owner.

Grab everyone I find. I still use styro minnow buckets because they keep the minnows alive better than metal or plastic. I also have a plastic trolling bucket that I put them in and place them in my little fish pond. I have some minnows I bought in January that are still alive.

Yep, styro buckets keep minnows waaaaaay longer than a metal or plastic bucket. Guess they hold the temp cool a lot longer. I probably have 8 or 10 of them. My deal is, I decide to go fishing after work but have no minnow bucket with me in town, so I just buy another styrofoam one.
Picked up the ultimate minnow bucket a couple years ago. It is blue plastic, with a styrofam liner. You stick a battery in a hole on the side of it, flip a switch and it has a bubbler built in. Keeps minnies lively a long time.

I typically use the trolling style. The fish do fine if in the water on a regular basis except in extreem water temps.

If you can't keep em cool you can't keep em alive. Hey Turkey Scout go to www.fishin.com and check out the KY site. They use it a lot it the big lakes. Don't know if it works well in smaller rivers like the White. As you know I have used similar methods for crappies for years.

Minnows will keep quite a while in a styro bucket in the fridge too! I keep my minnow buck submerged in the body of water that I am fishing. If necessary during transit, I add small amounts of ice from my cooler to the minnow bucket. I usually don't have any problems with the minnows dieing-off.
