I bet you guys still have a blast catching them for release. Yes I do remember. What is the status of the water up there. Has there been much improvement with IDEM's involvement?

Deertracks there has been some fancy maps made with the money, a few new access points and some conservasion easements, cleanups. The water is as in good as shape as it was before, maybe better. But there is still raw sewage being pumped into every river in Indiana with CSOs so we will never have pristine waters, unfortunately. Except for a few that flow through some big sections of Military property specifically Big Oaks, most have some sort of human caused problems.

I fully understand where you are coming from living downstream from Indy my whole life. I grew up sneeking coal car rides to daredevil-walk the power plant spillway (sheer stupidity!), fishing, hunting, swimming, & floating the west fork of White River. Ah, those were the days.

Now see what you did Turkeyscout? Not only am I going to have to teach Duff to shoot, now I will have to teach him how to smallmouth fish also. Work never ends I tell ya. Duff, here is tip #1. You have to be on,in, or very near the river to catch smallmouth. The front porch won't work. Thanks for reminding me you live by the river. I need a new stretch to fish over there. By the way Scout, i'm sure 410 will want to thank you for getting me started on turkey hunting. He's still a little bitter about that big one I got in Missouri last year while hunting with him. Noticed I didn't get a return invite, hmmm. Duff, did that case of Schlitz find its way to your porch yet?

Indy, you call that a hunt? I now see why you "hunt" alone. Now your looking for a return invite, can't do bud. After the locals heard what you did and that I was the one who brought you into the state now I'm not even allowed back. And how would you get Duffs fish off his hook and on to yours without him seeing that?
Duff, don't open the brown bag that Indy dropped off on your front porch. It's probably a case full of the shlits. ;D He's still trying to get even for us not taking him on one last limit hunt.

Well 410, you notice that after I killed MY bird, you couldn't even get a bird near you? Whether you like me or not, I think you better keep me around so your freezer stays full. Boy I hope 911 or the guy with the hot pink calls starts hanging around more. I need someone to take a little of the pressure off of me.

Yes and it's no wonder I couldn't get a bird all the hooting and hollering you did after you killed it. I bet the rest of them birds ain't returned yet. Did you ever figure out what made you sick that you couldn't go back out and hunt with me?

I wondered what that smell was, I figured it was just the treatment plant but the wind was the wrong direction. Now I know, Indy was over my way.

Did you ever figure out what made you sick that you couldn't go back out and hunt with me? Didn't need to. You had your personal guide taking you out. I assumed you two could figure out how to pull the trigger without me. Guess I was wrong. Plus I wouldn't have been any good to you. Only thing I could do was call and there was no way the birds were going to hear me over all the squaking you did on that aluminum slate call. That same crap I had last year, I got it again about 3 weeks ago. Whatever it was is some nasty stuff. Duff, that smell isn't me. I showered last week. Could be the beer, although it's probably just the White River.

Hey Turkeyscout... Can you point me in any good directions to get a line wet between Anderson and Noblesville??? I've creek fished for smallies all my life, but have never tried the White River, even though I only live 3/4 mile from Potter's Bridge in Noblesville. I've canoed it a few times, and seen some great looking holes, but haven't given it a try fishing yet. Do you guys wade, fish from a boat or shore??? I've always been a wader, but I know there are some deep holes in W.R.. What would ya recommend???
