I have been a stren person frome the start, but last year I noticed a drop in the quality of the line. Maybe I just got a few bad spools, not sure, but the line just didnt perform. I switched over to Trilene XL smooth casting and havent looked back. I am always trying new stuff, so If i find a better line I'll let u guys know.

Tried Spider wire and didn't think I would ever try another braided line. A friend persuaded me to try Fire line and that is all I have used since. I fish 1/64 oz jigs most of the time and the 4# with !# diameter in chartruese really does the trick.

I voted stren, but I have noted the same problems as Processor. Lots more line breaks and knot breakage/slippage. I don't think its an isolated problem.

hey decatur, i also like blue stren, but i like to add , buy the line where theres a large turn-over, so the line you get might be fresh. i use 8# alot if it cuts my hand while tugging on it , with-out breaking , its good to go. good luck turkey scout p.s. mostly fish for smallmouth in creeks and rivers.

I agree Scout, I always try to buy line at store that move it fast. I also watch for changes in packaging that might indicate if it's last years product or not.

Check out the stren clear blue under a blacklight at night . Its great for catfishing. It [glow=red,2,300]glows.[/glow]
I use spider wire fusion on my open face reels . It doesnt have memory so it isnt prone to twisting and blowing off the reel in a big blob. I dont think its called fusion anymore though.
