We like Shakamak and Sullivan Lake for camping. 76 as am from T.H. don't really need to camp to fish Green-Sullivan but sure could use some info on which lakes are better fishing. Tried Duck this week, Wind out of the North East, fishing was poor to say the least.

Indianahick - You are in the right neighborhood. Duck is a good lake, as are several of the larger lakes right nearby. Good crappies, bluegills and red ears.
It's a little tougher fishing now than in the spring and fall when the water is cooler. Best bet is to find them suspended with your fish finder mid day, or the last couple hours before dark they tend to move to the edges to feed.
Stay with real natural presentations. Very light line, tiny hooks, etc. If fishing shallow, I always use clear bobbers. Fish are very finicky in that clear water and a bright orange bobber, or a big fat sinker, big hook and heavy line will make them bite shy.

Buzzard's Roost in the Hoosier National Forest - very primative (take your own water), overlooks the Ohio
Hardin Ridge on Lake Monroe. used to be my favorite.
Turkey Run Shades
Where to avoid IMO, Paynetown on Lake Monroe, Mississenewa & Salamonie, Clifty Falls they were/are cow pastures with stakes to identify the camp sites, very few trees.

I'd have to say I love Lincoln State Park. Just off 64 near Holiday World. There is water and electric at every site and they are big and level. Look at 40 and 41, they have water views.

Place real close to you. 64 west to I-37 going towards Tell City. Turn left at the junction that goes to Derby, Indiana. 3 miles north of the river on the east side of road is a small used car lot, and the lot is surrounded by electric & water hookups for camping. Been staying here for years during Turkey Season. HNF surrounds this area.
