Any hybrid owners out there. I am curious as to pros and cons people have experienced. I like them soley for the weight factor and not having to buy a new truck yet to pull one.

I have talked to people that have used them. They liked the fact that unlike a pop-up type you have more living space and a toilet/shower. Now having had a pop-up I will tell you that the beds that pull out are probably quite chilly in colder weather, since they are of the same design as a pop-ups. The good part is that you could end up with a 30+ foot trailer if there are pull out beds on both end and only pull a 20+ foot trailer and save on weight. If you have a young family and camp alot of weekends I would think that they are a good deal. Now if you are planning of being a full time camper during the summer I would give it some serious thought and maybe look into a 28-30 ft 5th wheel with bunks and a slide. Which will pull quite nicely with a 3/4 ton truck. Which ever you decide to get also be sure to get electric brakes and a transmission cooler for longer trips. Even for short trips I would recomend the brakes though.
