Going to put this here as it has to do with camping but it could go in fishing also. Anyway have looked thru the new Indiana fishing book a couple of times and it shows some places to camp in Ind. mostly state parks. There are supposed to be a couple of campgrounds around Monroe one state and a couple of federal, does anyone have a phone number, or link to either one to get camping costs per nite and site types.
Never mind went at it from a different direction, first went to Monroe and then Paynetown and Harden (not correct name) and then found out costs. Believe it or not but the state campgrounds at Paynetown are less costly than the federal. Got that part now just have to decide when to go and if I really want to.

I have only been there once. But there is a beautiful place to camp, but it is more of a horse camp right off of 446 I think. The road that goes over the lake. They give you free wood to burn and a free buffet breakfast too.

Go with Harden Ridge overPaynetown
It is well worth the extra couple bucks, trees, trails, boatlaunch, semi-private
Over all a much better value I've been to both places several times

I really like Paynetown-I have lot`s of great memories of camping there with my son and a buddy. We would squirrel hunt in the Hoosier in the Deem Wilderness, great times.

Both are nice, Harden Ridge seems a little nicer.

I give Paynetown the thumbs up on facilities....it has a nicer ramp area/beach/playgrounds. Hardin Ridge kick's Paynetown's tail in terms of camp sites. They are all wooded and not on top of each other like Paynetown. PLUS, Hardin Ridge is just around the corner from Party Cove!
