Several of us are going camping this weekend for the opening of muzzle loader season from Friday to Tuesday. Weather is suppose to be cold 17 degrees Friday night but up to the 40's by Tuesday. Winter camping is really fun and makes you appreciate life's little comforts we take for granted sometimes, like flushing toilets, cup of hot coffee....etc.. Is anyone else camping this weekend? h.h.

Excellent ! I like winter camping also, and usually do a couple outings each year. I've got a canvas wall tent with a wood stove that is pretty darned nice.

makes you appreciate life's little comforts we take for granted sometimes, like flushing toilets, cup of hot coffee....etc.. You forgot water in a liquid state in general. ;D Don't know how many times I woke up to find that we had to thaw out our water just to make breakfast! Aside from getting dressed when you are shivering so badly you can't hardly stand, that was probably the worst part of it. Haven't camped in the winter (or at all) since I got out of Boy Scouts 10 years ago... I earned my "freeze-out" badge more than once!
