I'd be REALLY surprised if there were still any there from my hand. It's been 12+ years since I've been to Maumee. I'm sure there's still some staff there that will remember it though! If Martin or Dave (the ranger) are still there, I'm sure they will. ;D Now, that's not to say the tradition wasn't carried on by others after I got out of Scouts!

Ranger Dave is still around. I remember seeing stickers on the flag poles last spring when I was there last, but have no idea what they were.

;D Any of them that I "may" have been involved with would be at the top of the pole(s). ;D Again, not saying I did, but I'm not saying I didn't.
I PLEAD THE 5TH!!! ;D ;D ;D If you say anything to Dave about them reference the Crumbaugh troop. He'll know (or should at least) exactly what I'm talking about!

Surprisingly well. I missed it due to work, but we had around 15 boys and 5 adults. The troop set up our 20' X 20' walled canopy to help block the wind and set the tents inside. The report was none of the boys got cold Friday night. There was about 350 that stayed Friday night, a turn out of about450 for the events Saturday, but only about 150 stayed Saturday night. The extra 10 degrees colder and the 20+ mph winds made things quite a bit worse for Saturday night. Several of the boys were quite cold and stiff Sunday morning, which made tear down and pack up take over two hours. All the boys seemed to speak well of the experience Monday night at the troop meeting, but several made declarations that they were not attending next year. We are currently researching the full requirements for the boys to earn their "Arctic Camping" badge. With all the former Scouts I have spoken with, we feel there should be no reason they don't get it. The next camp out is in about three weeks, but we have chosen to use the new Winter Cabin done at Camp Louise Ernst. With the way the weather is going this year, it will probably be in the 60's.
