So anyone got a deer camp planned with their buds? I'll be playin it by ear this year. One of my amigos that always camps with me is in Mississippi with the national gaurd and his wife said she's "hoping" he'll be home next month! I sure hope so, I was planning a deer/turkey hunt at one of his sweet spots this year.

Heck yeah, can't wait!!!!!!! Our group goes down to Kentucky for the opening week of rifle season on a private lease each year. The hunting & camp cooking is good & the fellowship is great.

Depart for Wyoming 10/15. Do it yourself rifle deer hunting on millions of acres of public ground.
Nothing like western hunting in the wide open spaces. We plan on doing a couple pack ins this year. Just head into some good looking country the afternoon before and sack out under the stars in sleeping bag, covered with a tarp. Will be smack in the middle of prime deer country at first daylight.
Traveling pretty light and mobile this year. A pick-up with a topper, small tent, a small cook stove, a couple lawn chairs, a cooler of drinks and some good grub. We'll just sack out at the truck, wherever evening finds us, and put the emphasis on the hunting.
Can't wait.
May do a little local camp out hunt around here when my Missouri buddy comes up to hunt in November, too.

I don't know if I'd call it camping, but a bunch of people from around the country are meeting up in KY for our 3rd annual bow hunt at Green River WMA. Most of us camped last year at a campground, because we had the hunt in September last year. This year that particular campground is closing before we get there because we have the hunt planned for the end of Oct. so some of us rented some nearby cabins. Should be a hoot as always. GR WMA has been under a 15" spread restriction for 4 or 5 years now. It's really just a matter of getting on a good buck in 3-4 days. It's tough to do, but is a BUNCH of fun trying!

I don't do the deer camp but have the past couple years gone to a camp in Pennsylvania to beer (I mean bear) hunt. I hooked up with a good guy who owns the camp and he does charge me a few $ for my meals and lodging but it's a good couple days vacation. I usually get out and hunt about 1 1/2 days of the 3 day season. Since I'm originally from PA it's nice to get back to the mountains for a bit.

Lefty, the Captain is ready to roll. I plan on making it a full 2.0 this year. How did that stock deal work out?

Thanks Guys ! Just myself and one other guy going this fall. We plan on getting pretty aggressive, covering a lot of ground, and getting back off the beaten path away from the crowds.
However, being the twisted, ate up, deer maniac that I am, I've got the tree stand and bow loaded in the truck, alarm set for 4:30, and plan on taking one more crack at a big Hoosier whitey I've been pursuing for a couple weeks, tomorrow AM.
Has a health screen today, cholesterol good, sugar good, but blood pressure a bit high for first time ever. You reckon it could be deer related? ;D

My RV is plugged in and on site. I intend to visit my camper every weekend until the end of gun season. 85 private acreas surround by other woods and farmland. bookoo bambis.
410 - the stock problem worked out fine. the $100 covered the repairs exactly. Shoot that dog if he's back at Cpt Morgans.

My son and I have started hunting Washington county this year. My son started the last weekend in the spring turkey season and myself just this past bow season. This has been an invite from a guy who now lets us have access to his 300+ wooded acres and the use of the fully furnished log cabin. My son killed a big tom and a doe already off the property.
