Well looking at the weather report for the next few days the Temps look great ,but dont much like the forcast for the high winds. Do deer not move as much?I have found they bed up and let it Blow. How about your sucess on really windy days. Indy area 30 MPH Thursday 20 MPH Friday Saturday ?

The wind report I have seen for Friday in Southeastern Indiana looks ok. Gusts up to 11 mph. That is doable. Much higher winds would play havoc with bowhunting though.

How about your sucess on really windy days. It depends on the timing. Some of the biggest bucks I have taken & seen while on stand were during the rut on nasty, wet, snowy, windy bone chilling days as I was questioning my sanity for being 30' up in a treestand moving side to side at least a foot.

deer hate high winds and bed in protected areas most of the time. i hate high wind too and dont hunt if its 20 and over especially this time of the year. as the rut gets closer deer will move more but now they are just putting on weight and getting ready for winter so dont move much in high wind. h.h.

Sat out tonight from about 4:45 till ~7. The wind and misty rain let up around 6 and I was hoping that a deer or two might visit my food plot. Nothing came and I headed back to the house when the wind and rain picked back up...
Not gonna be able to got back up for a few days... Figured with the weather turning cold they might show to eat a bite or two.

The bummer about the wind and rain is it's keeping the farmers from getting the corn in...... I don't see too many buck till that corn is harvested...I think the deer just stay in it for the most part. I like the cool temps......I'll be out there Friday AM. The good thing about the wind, if you see a buck off in the distance, you have a fair chance at stalking it using the wind to your advantage.

Saw 3 nice does the last hour before dark in the picked corn yesterday evening. It was very windy, raining, & temps were falling fast.

Stay in because of the wind? The last two days of hunting have been the best I have had thus far. Saw two nice bucks last night, and five bucks tonight.
