Went back this morning and started where i left off last night. I could not find any more blood this morning. She went into a small fence row on a trail and the trail split. i went up and down those trails and nothing. i circled and did all kinds of looking with no luck. i was just about ready to quit and decided to look and she if she had turned around and went back out of the old fence row and down a mowed path almost from where she came from and BINGO! these was the blood again. I went 20 yds and there she layed just off the path in some tall weeds. She had did a 180. The funny thing is i had walked with in 10 feet of her twice and didnt see her. The shot had double lunged her and she still went 150 -175 yds. Persistence pays off....h.h.

Good job, HH.!!
Yes, "PERSISTENCE" is the key in blood trailing.

Good job. Hope it was cool enough last night to keep her good.
You are lucky coyotes didn't find her.

Thanks guys! Ive got her skinned, quartered and in the refrigerator on the lowest setting. Plan on butchering her tomorrow.
10Point,
It got down to 50 here last night and she was in good shape this morning. I found her about 9-9:30 and checked her in at a local tackle shop. h.h.

Amazing how things look different after a fresh start ... I've done that a couple of times also .. It's like your brain has a picture of what things should look like and it won't let you see anything different. Good job finding her and better job going back the next day. At least you aged her a bit ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Those 180's are enough to drive you nuts if you aren't looking for them. The doe I shot last year did that; she bedded, then backtracked when I unknowingly bumped her. Had me scratching my head for a while.
Good job! I've only lost one deer (about 5 years ago), and it took a while for it to stop bothering me.
