The extended forcast looks great in my area on opening day. Saturday evening in the 40's. Sunday morning cool, no detectible wind, partly cloudy, high in the 60's. Ah man, what a morning to be in my treestand as the woods come to life!

I am planning to pack a lunch and spend the day in the stand.... that is of course unless the big one walks by first thing in the morning.

Finished my last practice session with the practice broadhead blades last night while in full gear. Then laundered the clothes, hung 'em outside for a bit, then into the tub with the earth scent wafers.
A few last practice sessions with the field points, and I'll be ready to go.
I'm so anxious I think I might climb in the stand tomorrow morning and just WAIT IT OUT until Sunday! LOL ;D

Been there done that (27 yrs.). This year was the first year of "the empty nest" for my wife & I. Wow! we actually have a little extra spending money and some time for ourselves. This is not to take anything away from hustle & bustle of investing in our kids future, just different. Oh yeah. Hopefully deerdude & I will have blood on our skinning knifes Sunday. Be sure to drop by the house if you & jr. can make it down to your honey hole. By the way most of the corn in the bottoms has been shelled this week. The beans are turning & they will be cut soon.

Wife is heading out of town with the kids this weekend. Looks good weather wise. I also get to hunt Saturday. Gotta love the urban zone.

I have thought about October 1st every single day since the last day of late archery. I can't wait. Regardless of deer sightings or shot opportunities, it will be great just to see the sunrise from my treestand again.
