Does anybody have an idea what the odds are for getting drawn for the military/refuge hunts and for the state park reduction hunts? I realize that the odds are probably a little different depending on which state park you chose. This is assuming that you and your buds have hunter's ed.
It seems that I saw somewhere last year a chart that showed the number of hunters allowed per park, and that they had trouble getting all the slots filled for most of the park hunts. Did I dream this? If this were true, then I should have a 100% shot at getting drawn if all my paperwork was in order. Anybody have some knowledge about this? Thanks

I think there is some kind of formula they use and maybe have 1 hunter per 20 acres or so. So your odds of being drawn are the number of slots avaolable to the number of applicants.

I seem to get drawn every year for one or more of them.
You'll increase your odds if you put in that you are willing to bow hunt them.

last year the dnr came out with statement saying the park hunts were not filled up and everyone needed to apply soon or be left out. i called the dnr in indy and asked if there were any park hunts not filled. i volenteered to hunt anything they had open. the woman told me all the park hunts were filled.
the odds of getting drawn depend on how many apply for each hunt. i would say its between 25 - 50 percent you will get drawn for a park hunt or military hunt. that is just a guess. h.h.

I've put in for Versailles State Park 4 times and been drawn 4 times.
Military Hunts,...... Nowhere near as lucky!
